Land, Labs and Learning Spaces

Find the places and spaces that support discovery, learning and outreach on the CFAES Wooster campus.

At CFAES Wooster and 快播导航, students and researchers use our working farms, animal facilities and field environments for hands-on education and applied research.

  • 143 acres for field-based learning and demonstrations
  • 200 registered Holstein cows using an automated milker
  • 1 cattle handling system designed by Temple Grandin

A working environment to advance agriculture

CFAES Wooster gives students more than a place to study. It gives them a place to do the work and build their skills.

Here, learning happens in fields, barns and teaching spaces where students build practical skills and connect what they study to real agricultural systems. This includes 快播导航鈥檚 143-acre land laboratory and our animal facilities on our 3,600 acres of research and teaching farms with over 800 acres of tillable land for forage and field crop production. These spaces support hands-on instruction and applied research across crops, livestock and environmental systems.

For students, that means early experience with the tools, animals and production systems used across the industry. For faculty, staff and research partners, it means access to working environments where questions can be tested in real-world conditions.
